Over mij/mijn reis
At the moment I am traveling out of curiosity and a sense of adventure. My travelings so far have led me from Moscow (Russia) to Luang Prabang (Laos) by public transport. After meeting a few long distance cyclist I have become inspired to try this for myself. The next step will be to get a bicycle with a little help in Vientiane (Laos). From there I will try and cycle to the south of Laos, through Cambodia and Thailand. This will last until I meet my parents somewhere in Thailand. And beyond that, who knows where my travels will take me.
So far my route has been (as is shown on the map):
Moscow (Russia) - UlaanBataar (by train)
UlaanBataar - Beijing (by train)
Beijing - Xi'an (by train)
Xi'an - Chengdu (by train)
Chengdu - Lijang (train to Penzihua, bus to Lijang)
Lijang - Dali (by bus)
Dali - Kunming (by bus)
Kunming - Hanoi (bus to bordertown Hekou, train from bordertown Lao Cai to Hanoi)
Hanoi - Cat Ba Island - Hanoi (bus, boat, bus both ways)
Hanoi - Hue (by bus)
Hue - Dong Hoi (by bus)
Dong Hoi - Dong Ha (by bus)
Dong Ha - Savannaketh (bus to bordertown Lao Bao , bus from bordertown Dansavan to Savannaketh)
Savannaketh - Vientiane (by bus)
Vientiane - Vang Vieng (by bus)
Vang Vieng - Luang Prabang (by bus)
Luang Prabang - Vientiane (by bus)
From here on I have traveled by bicycle - bought in Vientiane. The only exceptions to this being Bangkok - Surat Thani and back by train and Bangkok - Koh Chang by bus.
The plan from here on is to keep cycling as long as I like it and to go back when I don't like it anymore or run out of moneym whichever is first.
